You don’t have to be certain to speak up.

If you are concerned that a child may be experiencing abuse or neglect, reporting your concern can help connect that child and family with the people responsible for assessing their safety.

If a Child is in Immediate Danger, Call 911.

If there is not an immediate emergency, concerns about child abuse or neglect should be reported to the appropriate child protection or law enforcement agency.

Where Do I Make a Report?

In Minnesota, reports of suspected child abuse or neglect can be made to child protection or law enforcement. If you are reporting to child protection, contact the county or Tribal Nation where the child lives.

What if I’m Not Sure?

If you are concerned about a child’s safety, you do not need to investigate the situation yourself. If something you have seen, heard, or learned causes you to be concerned about a child’s safety, you can contact child protection or law enforcement and share what you know.
